Raindrops keep falling on my head
If I am allowed to choose one day to run amok, it would definitely be today.
It's Saturday and I have two lectures from 8 to 12. While everyone enjoys the luxury of not having to wake up early on Saturdays, I had to brave myself through the downpour to my un-sheltered bus stop. Ah yes the bus. No wonder most of the Murphy's Laws are about waiting for a bus. One of them is "When you're late the bus will be on time, and when you're on time the bus will be late". So there I was standing for 10 bloody minutes soaking myself under the unforgiving skies of the Nord.
The classes were not that bad. The only good news for the day came at 11.30 when the lecturer decided to let us go earlier.
After that I went to the bank to check on my account. I was furious to see that my bloody convertible-loan (need to get the terms right) money is yet to be credited into my account. Not increasing the amount of the convertible-loan when everybody else is getting up to 80% hike is one thing, but not sending it on time when students are living on a stretched-razor-thin funds is just too much.
So, OK my money hasn't come in, but I still need to pay the upcoming rent. I decided to transfer some funds from my other accounts (which I was thinking of saving it for matrimonial purposes - Yes, thee-hee-hee yourself). So I withdrew some cash and put in it the cash deposit envelope, and when I got to the cash deposit machine, a message appeared which said 'We're in deep regret that this machine is temporarily out of order'. Aw, how nice. Such well-mannered language. Self-service banking my foot. But since it was not yet noon, I thought I'd run to the main entrance where the counters were, and where the other cash deposit machine was. I ran once again in the rain, to found that it's already close, even though it was only 11.58. So, I had a few hundred Euros in my pocket, which I could not deposit until Monday, which I could not spend on anything, with the possibility of getting mugged or misplacing the money. Talk about a stress free weekend.
Then I went to the butcher. Even though I took the métro, I still had to walk from the métro station to the shop, and it was raining heavier than ever. Normally people would go to the butcher on Sundays since it's market's day and the prices are lower. With that and the fact that it was raining like mad, I thought it would be a breeze, popping into the shop, buy whatever I want, and pop out. What a surprise. The butcher was full - no, packed, with people, even worse than Sundays. I spent about an hour waiting for my turn. Finally getting what I came for, I had to go through the rain again. A car nearly splashed me at a pedestrian cross. Had he done that, I wouldn't hesitate to throw the 2kg chicken breast that I just bought at his car. I could have lost 13€ worth of chicken, but it would be worth the satisfaction.
So after all that, when I got home, I took a shower, screamed into my pillow and went to sleep.
