The day before Raya

Yayay besok raya! Woke up quite late today... at around 9. Started the day by cleaning up my room from top to bottom. My room had never been this clean before. At around 11, me, fifi and dinie went to buy some meat at the boucherie. Dinie wanted to cook ayam panggang that night. We went to Lidl after that. They bought their stuff and i bought ferrero rocher for 5.66 euros. Much more cheaper than Super U (5.80). At 1, i had a rendez-vous with toh and brian to go to super U. They bought the ingredients for their cakes and i bought my usual groceries. And the lady behind the counter said that they will only give free plastic bags until the end of the year. after that we have to bring our own bags. Stupid capitalism!
We planned to have a grand buka puasa in my room tonight. Dinie made bihun goreng and ayam panggang. But he started cooking at 4.30 and buka puasa was at 5. So we cooked halfway at dinie's room and we brought up the bihun and the oven full of chicken to my room. We semayang maghrib together and then we continued cooking. After isya' we takbir and it was quite sad. That was the first time that we takbir far from our family. And only after takbir that we actually buka puasa
After buka puasa, the real work began. We went to dinie's room and cooked the ketupat. The first batch took 2 hours to cook. from 9.30 to 11.20. While waiting for it to cook, Dinie made biskut cornflakes. The one with cornflakes and honey in a small muffin cup. So together, we gentel-gentel the cornflakes until the cups finished and the were still a lot of cornflakes left. Apa lagi... we ratah the whole pot.At 11.30 Irfan brought another packet of ketupat. Since they said that the first batch was not enough, we cooked the 2nd batch and it took only 45 minutes. Ustat and fadhil said they wanted to cook rendang. So after the ketupat, we sent the pot upstairs so that ustat can use it to cook the rendang. We finished working at 1 am and we (me, dinie, fifi and irfan) slept in dinie's room at 2. Now i know what the makciks do, staying up late at night before raya.
Esok Raya!!!
