I never promised you a rose garden
Eventhough class starts at 1030 today, I woke up at 8 as I have a rendez-vous at 9. I went to open up another bank account today. The only reason why I opened a new account is to get a check (or is it cheque?) book. So, from now on I have two bank accounts. Which means a new bank card. Wahahaha. My wallet is actually an inch thick in average. It can only slim down when a new month starts, which is when I take out all of my receipts from my wallet. When I was small, I always wonder why do adults have usually thick wallets. And now, as an adult, I understand why. Because we adults, we like to collect cards. At any time given, I always have my photocopy card, cinema card, Quick card, student card, bank card(s), cafetaria card, Auchan card, KLM card, identity card, 12-25 card and my Viva card. So even if one day we managed to create a cashless society, we can never be a cardless society.
And finally we had our German class today after 2 months (5 weeks of blockage, 2 weeks Easter break, and two Fridays lost to make way to presentations made by a Lithuanian and a Belgian). Anyway, I have forgotten almost everything that we've learned before. And today we began 2 new grammatical points; the directif and the locatif. Really, I myself couldn't figure out how can the Germans speak a language that is highly complicated. Having two genders in French is hard enough (for your information English and Malay have only one gender with some exceptions), in German you have three genders. And then to construct a sentence, in French you have the COD and the COI, but in German you have the locatif, directif, datif, acusatif, and nominatif. And those are the ones that I've learnt. I'm pretty sure that there are at least 372 (a randomly picked number) more of those things.
But I really enjoyed the German class today. Firstly because the prof said I have a very good pronounciation (unlike the French, I do not pronounce things the french way), and secondly, the prof actually sang today in class. He was announcing the exam date (which is on the 26th by the way), when my class representative let out a huge sigh. And then he said "I know it's tough, but I never promised you a rose garden". Ewahh. Jiwang jugak cikgu ni. When we asked who said that (because I thought it was Shakespeare, and someone else said it was someone else), he said it was a song, and he sang a small excerpt. I know that song, sang by Lynn Anderson in the 60's.
Today we had our exam on Survey. There was only 4 questions, but I answered on 5 pages. I'm just hoping that it was not a waste of ink and paper. I tried my best to remember everything since last week. As usual, I made a recapitulative note on a piece of couloured A4 paper, fold into 3. And when my friends saw me reading it, everyone asked me if I can lend it to them to make photocopies. Oh I am so proud. The only problem is, if everyone fails, it would be because of that piece of paper.

My new favourite cartoon character. Le Chat.
I beg your pardon,
I never promised you a rose garden.
Along with the sunshine,
There's gotta be a little rain sometimes.
