Non 54,5%

The french voted NO to the european constitution. At exactly 22H, they announced that 54,5% of votes went to the NO camp. France is the 10th country to ratify the constitution and the first to reject it. A NO means that the constitution will not be adopted since to adopt it they need everyone to say YES. But the French who voted YES are now worried that France will be put aside since France is one of the founding country of the EU. Other countries that are expected to say NO is the Netherlands, Poland and of course the UK.

Personally, I'd vote NO as well. I'm not concerned with the content of the constitution, but with the way the were forcing the French to vote YES. They said that the constitution is more liberal, social and democratic. But they also warned that if France says NO, they will isolate and put France aside. It's as if saying 'Weh korang, kita ada idea best, apa kata kita tengok siapa sokong, siapa tak sokong. Siapa tak sokong kita tanak kawan'. Where's the democracy in that? If I'm to say NO, leave me alone, don't go menacing me telling that I must say YES in order to stay. If that's the case, then why vote? Why ratify?
