Jom dinner kat Germany
Today the people from Petronas came. En Syed Kamal from London, En Rahim and Pn Faridah from KL.
We met them for a while after our accounts class. They just arrived and we were about to leave. We had a brief 5 minutes talk, exchanging hello's and how are you's. They would be having lunch with the IUT people along with Pierron and Maggie. On the other hand we had to rush to the mosque.
At 3, we had a short meeting with them. We were (read: i was) quite anxious before the meeting, but as we proceed through the meeting, i felt quite at ease with them. With Pierron, we talked about our placements. In turned out that the Telekoms have already their replies, and for the Petronas we still have to wait. After Pierron left, we talked aboutthe things that we've been wanting to discuss about with Petronas. And yayy, they'll pay for my CAF starting from June to November, and also they'll pay for our DELF.
Yesterday, i already booked a table at 3 Poissons. But during our brief meeting before lunch, they suggested that we eat in Germany. Huh. So after the 2 hours meeting, they came to inspect our rooms. Then, from Residence Kastler, we headed to Fribourg in 2 taxis. I was with En Rahim, Ustat and Toh. We had a pleasant chat on the way, talking from life in Colmar to what the hell Petronas will do with us after this. And he assured us that we will not be stationed in Africa. At least not yet.
When we arrived in Fribourg, me and Toh went to the 'i' to ask for restaurant recommendations. It's not that we don't know the city, but we had never eaten in restaurant before. The closest was in Aladdin in Colmar. After getting their recommendations, we walked through the city, through the usual streets. The other two stopped by here and there to shop, while Syed Kamal was busy searching for Hugo Boss' products. I don't have the slightest idea why. While we were walking Syed Kamal said ' Nak aiskrim tak?'. Of course la we said ' takpe lah, tanak.'. He replied ' Takpelah, I belanja'. And without hesitation we said ' Oh, kalau belanja takpelah'.
We walked and stopped in some shops until all shops have closed definitely, meaning around 8. Then we went to the recommended restaurants from one to another, but they were all full, next to the last restaurant, we saw an indian food shop 'Maharajah'. Syed Kamal asked if it's halal, and the guy said yes. It must've been hard being the waiter that served us. Kesian dier kena buli. But anyhow, we saw Paratha in the menu, and it has been a year since we last ate a real indian roti canai. So we had Biriani, Kima, Paratha, Kurma, and also Mango Lassie. Huh. Terangkat.
After dinner, we took a van taxi back home. The driver was a german-muslim-woman. So i was quite eager to have a small chat with her. With all the german i had in my head, i stroke a conversation with her, telling that we're Malaysians, and we live in Colmar. But i think she 'sakit telinga' hearing to my broken german. It's like saying 'Malaysian are we, living Colmar in we and are'. That was just an example. Not sure if i sounded like that.
Stopped in front of the Hotel Colombier, and we said goodnight and all, and we went back home. The next day i just realised that we didn't give them the plate that we bought for the ESU. Damn.
And happy birthday to Toh Chen Chou.
