Bonne Annee (Chinoise et Musulmane)

Not in the picture: Brian and Nicole. The two girls are Giovanna's daughters.

Happy Chinese New Year and Selamat Menyambut Maal Hijrah. We had lunch with our french profs today. I woke up at 7.30, and went straight to work. I made Roti Sardin (again) and also Popia Goreng. Nothing much to say about the roti sardin, but it was the first time i've ever made popia. I mean, i don't eat popia because one of the stuffings is carrot, and i don't like raw carrots. But i don't think my popia was nice. First, i didn't use real sengkuang, but a canned sengkuang, then there were no some sort of kacang that gives the taste ( you can always substitute it with bawang goreng, but i didn't have it either).
Nicole came to fetch our dishes and i had the chance to go with her in her car. Dinie and Fifi made some gulai danging and gulai labu, taufiq 'fried' some jemput-jemput, ustaz and khairul made some rendang, awad and irfan TRIED to make some ice-cream goreng, but tak jadi. The real chefs have got to be toh and brian, each made more than 2 types of dishes; 2 types of nasi goreng, vege, 2/3 types of chicken, and a dessert. I like Brian's ayam madu or something. I think i ate half of what he made.
The profs kept on praising us. And i would too. I mean, it's not easy to have 10 boys who can cook. And who said guys can't cook? Bravo les gars!
